Itinerary

Day 1 Embark and set off on a leisurely drive to Portsmouth. Possibly, enjoy some leisure time exploring this historic port city if traffic is kind to us, before we board the ferry for a scenic sailing to the Isle of Wight.

Day 2 We begin the day with breakfast and a visit to Cowes, renowned as the world’s premier yachting destination and home to the prestigious Regatta. Stroll along the vibrant High Street and Esplanade, soaking in the spectacular views of the bustling harbour. Next, we make the short drive to the magnificent Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s palace by the sea. Marvel at the Victorian opulence, extravagant interiors and jaw-dropping Indian décor in the Durban room. (English Heritage members, please inquire about available discounts at time of booking)

Day 3 Enjoy a relaxing day in the charming seaside town of Shanklin, located on the island’s southeast coast. Revel in a classic beach day on the expansive sandy shores, visit the tranquil Shanklin Chine - a wooded ravine with scenic beauty – or explore the Old Village, brimming with unique independent shops, restaurants and pubs.

Day 4 We start with a visit to the delightful seaside town of Ryde. After a leisurely lunch, step back in time with a nostalgic journey on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Relax in beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages as the train meanders through the stunning countryside.

Day 5 After breakfast, it’s time to bid a fond farewell to the Isle of Wight. We’ll start our journey home, with stops along the route, cherishing the wonderful memories of our island adventure.
