Itinerary

Day 1 We set off on our journey towards Derbyshire. Our first stop is the charming town of Bakewell, where the market is brimming with seasonal produce, local crafts, and of course, the famous Bakewell pudding. Take time to explore the stalls and browse independent shops. Later, we continue to Buxton, arriving late afternoon to settle in before dinner is served.

Day 2 Enjoy a leisurely start to your day at the hotel, perhaps treating yourself to a soothing spa treatment, unwind at the indoor pool, or sauna and steam room. After a relaxing morning, a highlight of our holiday awaits as we make our way to Chatsworth House, one of England’s most magnificent stately homes. Spend the afternoon exploring its grand interiors, wandering through the exquisite gardens and admiring the house’s treasures.

Day 3 After breakfast, we enjoy a nostalgic steam rail journey through the Peak District's colourful autumn scenery to the charming town of Matlock. You'll have free time to explore this beautiful riverside setting and enjoy lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, we visit Cromford Mill, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s first water-powered cotton spinning mill, where you can delve into the Industrial Revolution's history.

Day 4 Today is yours to enjoy at leisure in Buxton, with plenty to see and do at your own pace. Perhaps take a gentle stroll through the beautifully landscaped Pavilion Gardens, relax with a café, or browse the boutique shops. A visit to the Buxton Crescent and Pump Room offers a fascinating insight into the town’s Georgian spa heritage. However you choose to spend your day, you are sure to find Buxton full of charm and interest.

Day 5 We bid farewell to Buxton and begin our journey south. Enroute, we stop at Trentham Shopping Village. With plenty to do, you will be spoilt for choice. Browse a variety of shops, take a break in one of the cafés. After stretching our legs, continue homeward
