Itinerary

Day 1 Our holiday begins as we set off for the charming coastal town of Torquay, at the heart of Devon’s celebrated English Riviera. Enjoy a relaxing journey with comfort stops along the way. By late afternoon, we arrive at the welcoming Abbey Lawn Hotel. There’ll be time to settle into your room, before dinner and our first evening of entertainment.

Day 2 We start with a visit to Exmouth today, gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast featuring two miles of golden sands where the River Exe meets the sea. Later in the day we take in Sidmouth, “A town caught still in a timeless charm” that was Sidmouth that captivated the Poet Laureate, John Betjeman. This lovely town nestling beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid valley.

Day 3 Today is yours to spend as you please, discovering the delights of Torquay. Part of the stunning English Riviera, this 22-mile stretch of South Devon coastline is famed for its award-winning beaches, palm-lined waterfront, and scenic boat trips. Take a stroll along the lively Promenade and Princess Pier, visit one of the elegant gardens, or perhaps enjoy a harbour cruise for a new perspective of the coast. With a wealth of cafés, shops, and attractions to discover.

Day 4 Today promises to be truly memorable as we visit the postcard pretty town of Totnes. Discover its rich history as you follow the intriguing town trail, stunning architecture and charming streets. Perhaps visit the impressive Norman castle that overlooks the town. The highlight of the day is a scenic journey on the South Devon Railway, the oldest steam railway in the southwest. Sit back and enjoy a scenic seven-mile ride through the picturesque valley of the River Dart.

Day 5 All great things must come to an end, we bid a fond farewell to the beautiful county of Devon. Enjoy a comfortable journey home with stops along the way, reflecting on the wonderful memories made.
