Spend a day at Southend-on-Sea, renowned for its seven miles of beaches and iconic attractions like Adventure Island and Sea Life Adventure, as well as boasting the world’s longest pleasure pier. Take a leisurely stroll along the 1.33-mile pier, if you not feeling so energetic hop on the Southend Pier Railway, running every 30 minutes (charges apply) If you fancy some shopping, you'll find some great independent shops along the high street, along with national chains in the Royals and Victoria shopping centres.
