9 Day UK & Ireland Grand Tour

Day 1 We travel to Grange-over-Sands between the mountains and the shores of Morecombe Bay.En route we will stop at the Potteries and a visit to one of the many outlets in the area.

Day 2 After breakfast we make our way to lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway to catch the steam train to Windermere followed by a boat trip on Lake Windermere surrounded by mountain peaks, forests and villages absolutely stunning scenery. We then complete our journey travelling to our hotel on the Loch.

Day 3 Today we make our way to Oban which in Gaelic means “little bay” Nestled on the Westcoast and surrounded by miles of dramatic shores and beautiful countryside. Oban itself is compact and easy to get around on foot. We visit the local distillery where we will sample a “wee dram“make sure you also visit the chocolate Company shop and museum. When its time to relax and refuel there are plenty of places to take your pick.

Day 4 After breakfast we bid Tioraidh (goodbye)to our hotel on Loch Long. We travel along the stunning Ayrshire coast to Culzean Castle one of Scotland’s best loved castles. Opulent to the extreme, the park is planted with conifers and beech, sculpted around miles of sandy coastline, dotted with caves, and finished off with a SwanPond, an icehouse. The castle itself is perched on the Ayrshire cliffs. We then make our way to Cairnryan for our ferry across to our next adventure in Northern Ireland.

Day 5 Today our guide takes us to The Giants Causeway a UNESCO World Heritage Site followed by a trip to Bushmills distillery to sample were tipple. Slainte!

Day 6 The morning is spent in Belfast with a visit to the Titanic Museum before we make our journey to Dublin. Time to visit the Guinness storehouse where you will learn about the history of Guinness in Dublin. Polish off the visit with a taste of the “Black Stuff”

Day 7 The best way to see Dublin is on foot many of the attractions are all within a walking distance. Better still you can do it all at your own pace We will drop you in the centre of Dublin where you have time to check out all the local sights and scenes. Take a wander, visit Trinity College see the book of Kells. Find the statues of Phil Lynot and molly Malone wheeling her wheelbarrow. Checkout Templebar the busy riverside neighbourhood, join in all the fun this area has to offer and donut forget to try a Dublin Oyster!

Day 8 An early morning as we catch the 08.10ferry from Dublin to Holyhead. Once we arrive in Wales, we make our way to the charming victorian resort of Llandudno. You will have the afternoon here to explore what many would describe as the complete holiday resort or maybe you prefer to make the walk (3 miles) and visit Conwy Castle, not that brave there is always the bus or a taxi.

Day 9 We bid “hwyl fawr” to Wales as we travel to one of Britain’s favourite cities Chester. Magnificent medieval architecture, fabulous boutique shopping and beautiful parks and riverside walks. Must-see sights include the RomanWalls and Chester Cathedral. Arriving home late evening
